CIDA City Campus
The first institution selected for support was CIDA City Campus in Johannesburg, South Africa, the first virtually free university in South Africa for the historically disadvantaged, which was the heartfelt inspiration for the formation of the CIDA Foundation.
Founded in 1999, CIDA City Campus is a thriving South African success story in the heart of Johannesburg — not only the pride of the city, but of the nation too — South Africa’s only ‘free’ open-access university. It offers a high quality, low cost, holistic, technology-enriched, mass-scale higher education model. This innovative model is designed to develop graduates who will serve to rejuvenate the economy of South Africa and any emerging nation through leveraging off the finest knowledge, content, and skills that exists worldwide.
CIDA City Campus has been lauded as a paradigm shift in higher education provision, human learning and development. The institution has introduced over 200 innovations and is receiving acclaim from world business leaders, public figures, and academics alike. Its purpose is to create highly developed students trained in leadership and cutting-edge business skills who can reach the greatest heights of achievement and self-development.
